Designing Riley: Shaping the Future of Adolescent Mental Health

The Riley app represents a pioneering venture into the intersection of technology and mental health, specifically designed to address the emotional well-being of South Korean adolescents. This project leverages advanced natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms to analyze social media data and journal entries, providing users with insights into their emotional patterns. By combining these technological approaches with a user-friendly interface, Riley aims to offer a comprehensive tool for emotional health management, making it a significant contribution to the digital mental health landscape.

In this project, my role as an Interaction Designer was pivotal in crafting a seamless and engaging user experience that respects the sensitive nature of the content while encouraging regular engagement. My responsibilities encompassed the entire design process from conceptualization to execution, including user research, prototyping, and user interface design. I worked closely with a multidisciplinary team of developers, AI engineers, and mental health professionals to ensure that the app not only meets its functional goals but also aligns with the cultural and emotional needs of its target audience. My contribution to Riley has honed my skills in empathetic design and reinforced my commitment to creating digital products that positively impact people's lives.
